Knowledge:
- With 30 years of commercial experience in starting and leading businesses, I’ve seen both major successes and failures, learning what works and what doesn’t.
- My training and research regarding leadership wellbeing and behaviours has enabled me to build evidenced-based approaches that get outcomes
- I have navigated studying, working, parenting, financial loss and grief - all at the same time, and realised how important it is to set healthy boundaries to maintain wellbeing.
Career highlights:
- I was relocated to Silicon Valley at the age of 19 to help a new tech start-up grow their business.
- A previous Managing Director, called me the business development guru at a conference, due to the success I had in winning big deals.
- I finished High School while in my 40s, was accepted to an Honours Program in Psychology and received a distinction for my thesis on Leadership Wellbeing.
- My first book was written and released during the pandemic.
Best advice received:
- Step back, breathe, see the bigger picture and recognise daily what I am grateful for.
Favourite business model:
Acceptance Commitment Training (ACT), enhances psychological flexibility, enabling leaders to adapt and thrive amidst challenges. ACT helps leaders manage stress, embrace change, and maintain focus on long-term goals. This approach not only improves decision-making and problem-solving but also strengthens resilience and emotional intelligence, leading to more effective and compassionate leadership.
Lencioni Trust Pyramid and how this helps dysfunctional teams, I find it incredibly helpful for leaders and leadership teams who are stuck or in conflict.
Book recommendations:
